While a standard swing bar door guard can add security to your home or apartment, some concern has been raised about the availability of emergency release tools that can bypass these locks.

We have enhanced the standard design by adding an innovative backup thumb turn security lock that blocks the release tool from disengaging the latch. In case of emergency, hotel security or emergency crews can remove the thumb turn lock with approximately 100 lbs. of force, ensuring that the emergency release feature does not compromise your security. Once the thumb turn lock is removed, the unit still functions as a traditional swing bar lock and requires a specially designed anti-Lockout emergency access tool to disengage.
